Lisbon

Quaint, Hilly, Timeless

A city that supports your step count more than anything. Climbing its steep roads will not fall short of your gym workout.

Lisbon is a lovely city with lots to do: artsy, culture and food. It’s perfect for a wander around the cobbled streets, identifying the talented murals and visiting little markets for bespoke gifts and cork bags.

Take a day trip to Sintra and Cascais. The town of Sintra is magical and charming with several palaces dotted around. I would have spent a night there if I could.

Lisbon also offers delicious Halal peri peri chicken (with tasty garlic sauce) at Zubir Churrasquiera.

Top things to do:

  • Lisbon city centre (Baixa)
  • Wander around Alfama
  • Belem
  • Pasteis de Belem (must try – original Pastal de nata recipe used by the monks)
  • Cascais
  • Sintra
  • Time Out Market
