Reykjavic

Serene, Crisp, Picturesque

A solo trip to Iceland, embraced by volcanoes, snow and waterfalls. How many places do you get to visit that have signs in the toilet: “Tap water safe to drink”? Ah, I miss the geothermic water, abundantly available.

The city is serene, under-populated, and mainly deserted, but safe for wandering alone.

Highlights:

  • Skogafoss – waterfall
  • Seljalandsfoss – waterfall
  • Glacier of Myrdalsjokull
  • Black sand beaches and basalt sea stacks
  • Geysir
  • Volcanoes (including Eyjafjallajokull)
  • Reykjavik City Centre
  • Laugavegur (main shopping district)

*Vegans look away* …You can even try whale meat here!

Top Tip: I would recommend hiring a car to explore Iceland and its sites at your own pace.
